Everything You Need to Know
Before Your First Visit.
We believe in transparency. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often about testosterone therapy, our clinic, pricing, insurance, and how we compare to telehealth.
🏥 Getting Started
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit takes about 45–60 minutes and includes three parts: (1) a comprehensive blood draw in our clinic (51-analyte panel for Standard/Complete patients, 4-panel for Essential), (2) a one-on-one consultation with a licensed physician who reviews your symptoms and health history, and (3) a physical examination. If your labs confirm low testosterone, your physician can often build your treatment plan and provide injection training at the same visit.
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
No. You can book directly with Revive Low T Clinic. We're a specialized men's health clinic and accept new patients without a referral. If you have prior lab work or medical records, feel free to bring them — but it's not required.
How do I prepare for my first visit?
Arrive fasting (no food for 8–12 hours; water is fine) for the most accurate testosterone and metabolic readings. Morning appointments are ideal because testosterone levels are naturally highest in the morning. Bring your insurance card (for pharmacy billing), a list of current medications, and any previous lab results if available.
Can I start treatment on my first visit?
In many cases, yes. If your blood work confirms clinically low testosterone and the physician determines TRT is appropriate, you can receive your first injection and hands-on injection training the same day. Your ongoing prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy of choice.
What are your clinic hours and locations?
We have three locations — Seattle, Kirkland, and Federal Way — all open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can visit any location for any appointment. Call (206) 960-4770 to schedule.
What age do you treat? Is there a minimum or maximum?
We treat adult men (18+) with clinically diagnosed low testosterone. There is no upper age limit. Low T affects men from their late 20s through their 80s, and treatment decisions are based on your lab results, symptoms, and overall health — not your age.
💰 Cost & Insurance
How much does the first visit cost?
The first visit is $99 for all plans — includes physician consultation, physical exam, and comprehensive lab work. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges.
How much does testosterone medication cost with insurance?
Most patients with insurance pay $0–30/month for testosterone at their local pharmacy. This is because we prescribe FDA-approved generic testosterone (like testosterone cypionate) that insurance formularies cover. Telehealth companies typically charge $150–250/month because they use their own compounding pharmacies that insurance won't cover.
What if I don't have insurance?
Testosterone therapy is still affordable without insurance. Generic testosterone cypionate at a local pharmacy typically costs $30–80/month cash price. We can also help you use pharmacy discount programs like GoodRx. All Revive costs are also FSA/HSA eligible.
Does Revive accept insurance for office visits?
Revive is a cash-pay clinic — our office visit fees and lab fees are paid directly to us. The insurance benefit is on the medication side: we prescribe to your local pharmacy where your insurance covers the testosterone. This is where most patients save the most money compared to telehealth alternatives.
What's included in the monthly membership fee?
Essential ($99/mo): Patient portal access, 1 annual in-person check-in, 2 telehealth follow-ups/year, prescriptions to any pharmacy.
Standard ($35/mo): Care team messaging, prescription refill coordination, insurance pharmacy billing, lab result review between visits, priority scheduling.
Complete ($269/mo): Everything in Standard plus unlimited telehealth, ED medication consultation, weight loss evaluation, dedicated care coordinator, nutrition guidance, and priority scheduling.
Can I use my FSA or HSA?
Yes. All Revive costs — plan membership, office visits, lab fees, and medications — qualify for FSA and HSA reimbursement. We provide itemized receipts for easy submission.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. All Revive plans are cancel-anytime with no cancellation fees. If you chose an annual prepay option, unused months are not refunded, but you can always switch to monthly billing going forward.
💉 Treatment
What testosterone levels qualify for TRT?
The American Urological Association defines low testosterone as a total testosterone level below 300 ng/dL. However, symptoms and free testosterone levels also matter significantly. Some men have a total T of 350 but very low free T due to high SHBG — and they feel terrible. Our physicians look at the full picture: total T, free T, SHBG, estradiol, symptoms, and health history.
How long does TRT take to start working?
Most patients notice initial improvements within 2–4 weeks, with full benefits developing over 3–6 months:
2–3 weeks: Improved energy, better sleep, enhanced mood
4–6 weeks: Increased libido, mental clarity, reduced brain fog
2–3 months: Body composition changes, improved muscle recovery, better exercise tolerance
6+ months: Significant lean muscle gain, fat reduction, sustained energy and mood improvements
What are the side effects of testosterone therapy?
Most patients experience little to no side effects. Some may notice mild acne or an adjustment period as their body adapts — these typically resolve on their own within a few weeks. Your doctor will fine-tune your protocol based on how you feel and what your labs show.
That's exactly why we do regular lab work at every follow-up — so we can track your progress, keep everything balanced, and adjust your plan to keep you feeling your best. It's the kind of hands-on care you can't get through telehealth.
What treatment options do you offer?
We offer testosterone cypionate injections (the gold standard — most common and cost-effective), topical testosterone (gels/creams for patients who prefer not to inject), and testosterone pellets. Our physicians recommend the option that best fits your lifestyle, goals, and insurance coverage. Most patients choose weekly or bi-weekly injections because they provide the most stable levels.
Will I need to inject myself?
Most patients self-inject at home after receiving hands-on training from our clinical team during their first visit. Self-injection is quick (takes about 60 seconds), painless with proper technique, and allows you to maintain consistent levels without visiting the clinic. If you're uncomfortable with needles, we also offer topical testosterone options.
Can TRT affect fertility?
TRT can temporarily affect fertility while on treatment. If having children is part of your plans, just let your doctor know — we have protocols specifically designed to support fertility alongside TRT. This is something we discuss with every patient during the initial consultation so there are never any surprises.
Do you treat ED? How is it connected to low T?
Yes. Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common symptoms of low testosterone. We evaluate the root cause — if low T is contributing to your ED, treating it with TRT often improves erectile function significantly. We also prescribe ED medications (sildenafil, tadalafil) to your local pharmacy, where insurance may cover them. Our Complete plan includes ED medication consultation at no extra cost.
What about medical weight loss? Do you prescribe semaglutide?
Yes. We offer GLP-1 medications like semaglutide (the same active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy) for medical weight loss. These can be especially effective when combined with TRT, as optimized testosterone supports lean muscle maintenance during weight loss. Weight loss evaluation is included in our Complete plan; semaglutide medication is priced separately based on dose.
🔬 Lab Testing
What does your 51-analyte lab panel include?
Our comprehensive panel tests: Hormones (8) — Total T, Free T, Estradiol, SHBG, LH, Prolactin, DHEA-S, Cortisol. CBC (15) — Complete blood count including WBC, RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelets, and differentials. CMP (14) — Comprehensive metabolic panel including glucose, kidney function, electrolytes, and liver enzymes. Lipids (4) — Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides. Plus: liver function (ALP, GGT), iron studies (ferritin, iron, TIBC), thyroid (TSH, Free T4), and HbA1c, PSA, Vitamin D.

Why does free testosterone matter?
Total testosterone includes bound and unbound testosterone. Only free testosterone (unbound) is biologically active — it's the testosterone your body can actually use. Some men have a "normal" total T but low free T due to high SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin), which binds testosterone and makes it unavailable. Testing only total T can miss the problem entirely. Most telehealth companies only test total T.
How often do I need follow-up labs?
Year 1: Approximately 4 visits with labs to dial in your protocol — typically at baseline, 6 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months. Year 2+: Approximately 2 visits/year for ongoing monitoring. Follow-up labs check testosterone levels, hematocrit (red blood cell count), estradiol, PSA, liver function, and other key markers to ensure your protocol is safe and effective.
📍 Locations & Logistics
Can I visit any of your three locations?
Yes. Your membership works at all three clinics — Seattle, Kirkland, and Federal Way. You can schedule appointments at whichever location is most convenient for you, and you're free to switch between locations visit to visit.
How long do follow-up visits take?
Follow-up visits typically take 20–30 minutes: a quick blood draw, review of your latest labs with your physician, and any protocol adjustments. Much shorter than the initial visit.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes — as a complement to in-person care, not a replacement. Essential plan includes 2 telehealth follow-ups/year. Complete plan includes unlimited telehealth check-ins. However, initial consultations, physical exams, and blood draws must be done in person. We believe telehealth works best for quick check-ins between in-person visits.
⚖️ Revive vs. Telehealth
How is Revive different from Hims, Roman, or Maximus?
The key differences: (1) Real physician exams — we see you in person with licensed doctors, not NPs or PAs on video. (2) Comprehensive labs — 51-analyte panel vs. the 4–7 markers telehealth tests. (3) Local pharmacy — we prescribe to your pharmacy where insurance covers medication ($0–30/mo vs. $150–250/mo through mail order). (4) Free testosterone — we test it; most telehealth doesn't. (5) Continuity of care — same doctor every visit who knows your full history.

Is Revive cheaper than telehealth?
Year 1 costs are comparable or slightly higher at Revive because of in-person visits and comprehensive labs. But Year 2 and beyond, Revive is significantly cheaper — approximately $1,452/year on our Standard plan with insurance vs. $2,160–3,360/year for telehealth. The difference is medication cost: insurance covers your pharmacy testosterone at $0–30/month, while telehealth charges $150–250/month for the same medication through mail order.
Why should I trust an in-person clinic over the convenience of telehealth?
Convenience is valuable — and we respect that. But hormone therapy works best with real monitoring. Regular lab work, in-person check-ins, and a doctor who knows your history means your treatment stays optimized and you feel your best. We also offer telehealth follow-ups between visits so you get the best of both worlds — convenience when it makes sense, in-person care when it matters.
Do telehealth companies really skip the physical exam?
That's correct — telehealth visits happen over video, so there's no hands-on evaluation. At Revive, your doctor sees you in person, which means they can do a complete wellness check and personalize your treatment based on the full picture — not just lab numbers and a questionnaire. It's a meaningful difference in the quality of care you receive.
